During my internship at the WSIB Innovation Lab, I had the pleasure of working with my largest design team yet—four other talented designers! I had a fantastic time collaborating with my peers and lab leads on diverse projects that positively impacted both corporate WSIB and Canadians across the country. This role gave me exposure to multiple facets of the product development process, from ideation to execution. With my teammates, I created compelling designs for the lab’s digital rebrand, conducted thorough usability testing for an employer dashboard PoC, assisted in content improvements for government pages, and even started research for future PoCs.

Recognizing a need to streamline workflows within the lab team, I took the initiative to assist with product management tasks, helping define outcomes for the design team and effectively transitioning into a product manager role. This experience allowed me to develop valuable skills in managing projects and enhancing team efficiency.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at WSIB Innovation Lab. I learned from my peers and lab leads, delved into various aspects of the design process, and discovered my passion for product management.
